LandAware is a multi-disciplinary, knowledge-based, non-profit network of individuals (e.g. managers, researchers, stakeholders) who are interested in cooperating for addressing and promoting issues related to Landslide Early Warning Systems (LEWS). The primary purpose of LandAware is to share experiences, needs and innovations among LEWS experts and to develop and promote guidelines and best practices for upcoming LEWS.
The actions of the network are carried out by means of working groups that operate on the basis of predetermined working objectives.
The LandAware Cooperation Agreement was signed during a constituent general assembly held online on June 26, 2020, and entered into force on July 1, 2020 (Calvello et al., 2020).
During the LandAware Workshop 2025 held in Ljubljana, an update of the Landaware Cooperation Agreement was proposed. The new Cooperation Agreement entered into force on September 19, 2025.
